Staying motivated

WARNING: WALKING WITH WALX CAN BE SERIOUSLY GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH

TIME OF DAY ..

Pick your time of day if your a  person walk first thing. There is no point if you hate mornings to be setting your alarm for 530am. If after work is best look for walks for this time of day  in your local area.  Regardless of the time of day your instructor will bring so much to your walx and you will leave feeling either refreshed and energised at the beginning of the day  or de stressed at the end of the day

WALK WITH A COMPANION

Do Something you enjoy, most runners run because they enjoy it, most dog owners have a dog because they like walking. Dog walkers love going out with their dogs and are happy to walk in all weathers. So if you can find an exercise companion be it a 2 or 4 legged friend it makes it more enjoyable and brings a sense of commitment to taking daily exercise. Companionship can be a great way to switch off when  exercising, the conversation  can be an added wellbeing factor and distraction to working out with your poles. its amazing how time flies when having fun. Walx is all about exercising whilst having fun,

KEEPING MOTIVATED

Consider your lifestyle, and the best way forward is little and often, this will keep you motivated, its not all about training for hours  and hours, this so often leads to injury which is so demoralising.   All WALX instructors are qualified to keep you motivated and will keep you on track with variety within the sessions and different locations to add some challenges to you fitness regime. Maybe set yourself a challenge to keep on track

MIX IT UP

‘Variety is  the spice of life’ This is no truer when  it comes to  exercise. Variety will keep you from injury as  you will be challenging muscle groups in different ways and under different stresses. Cardio and skeletal systems will adapt to the demands placed on it, so by challenging yourself in different disciplines will increase your fitness levels. Alternative disciplines  include cycling, swimming, resistance work, yoga and Pilates.

TREAT YOURSELF AND ENJOY

As you embark on your fitness  journey it is easy to become too focused on the end goal. Don’t let this ultimate goal become the fixation. Focus on the areas which make your exercise enjoyable. This will keep you motivated and, your goals, as you become fitter may change, be flexible and open minded, and most of all treat yourself . You deserve it!!
