Walk Description:

Gentle WALX that incorporate balance work, flexibility and strength exercises

. Great for those who are getting back into exercise, have a health condition or simply want to move well and be fit for life!

Our wellbeing Instructors are qualified to deliver WALX for all levels so it’s never too late to take that first step.

tarting off will help you to improve your fitness and lifestyle.

You will soon feel the benefits and start enjoying these sessions of ‘exercise with a difference.’ For a start there is no loud music or lycra. This is not your usual gym routine. It is a fun and challenging way of exercising and improving your overall health. It will give you the confidence to take on new challenges and goals.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A REGULAR OR PROFICIENT NORDIC WALKER FOR THIS. IT IS OPEN TO ALL.

The sessions will cover the following disciplines at a pace and level to suit you

Cardiovascular fitness – being able to carry out everyday tasks with reduced demand on your cardiovascular system (getting up stairs or hills without getting out of breath)

Muscular Strength – improved muscle strength and function to be able to take on tasks without injury and strain (gardening, playing with grandkids, carrying shopping)

Posture – improved muscle balance and posture to reduce strain on joints (walking better, standing longer)

Balance / Reaction – improving those to reduce likelihood of a fall Flexibility – increased flexibility and improved joint range of motion

– improved mood and increased ability to deal with stress (reduce stress chemicals, encourage restful sleep, warding of depression)

Please ensure you carry a bottle of water and any medication you may require.
