Walk Description:

Join us to explore the beautiful countryside of rural Leicestershire. This one hour walk starts and finishes near the Wistow Rural Centre with its bistro cafe and deli, garden centre and shops/galleries. Why not finish your walk with a cup of coffee and something to restore your energy levels?

Parking: Parking is free of charge. If conditions are dry, please park on the verge along Wistow Road (north of Kibworth Road junction in the direction of Newton Harcourt). In wet weather, use the pull-ins on Kibworth Road towards Kilby). Please avoid parking in Wistow Rural Centre car park unless the lay-bys are full, in which case please use the overflow car park.

Meet: in Nook's field, adjacent to the overflow car park.

Pace: Steady, to suit the group. Walking poles are NOT required to enjoy this activity.

Terrain: The walk will cross field paths and along the canal towpath may be muddy in wet weather. Please wear stout footwear, and clothing suitable for the prevailing conditions. The route may cross stiles and gates.

Elevation: Negligible inclines. Some locks have short steep or stepped slopes alongside.

Refreshments and toilets are available to finish your morning at Wistow Cafe Bistro. Please remember your mask if entering the bistro and adhere to their requirement for NHS Track and Trace.

When joining us we ask you to read and agree to these safety measures:

We aim to be respectful towards members of the public and reassure them of our safe practices. Please bring a small backpack or bum bag with water and a snack if required. Participants are required to register and complete an online health questionnaire in advance.
