Walk Description:

We will meet at Culpeppers Dish car park, this is owned by the Forestry Commission - no charge. At the start we will take a walk around the perimeter of Culpeppers Dish - the largest sinkhole in the area. The walk will then begin through Byrants Puddle Heath, along good tracks.  We then cross into Affpuddle Heath and Southover Heath, spotting sinkholes and mushrooms in the established woods.  Then we head out of the trees onto country tracks where we will stop for a picnic lunch. After this we'll continue through farmland until we reach the pretty village of Affpuddle, where we can admire the thatched cottages and church with stream running through the grounds. Finally we head back into Sares Wood and onto the car park at Culpeppers Dish. This walk can be muddy in parts after rain so ensure you have good footwear.  Also come prepared for the weather and bring a packed lunch and something to sit on.  This walk will be at a moderate pace, approximately 25 minutes per mile.
