Walk Description:

We begin at the Forestry England Ramsdown car park and head directly into the plantation of estblished pines and head upwards to the top of Ramsdown Hill, where reach our first viewpoint.  Then we head down steps and through lots of new tree growth which is rather Christmassy! We leave the plantation to cross over the main road but this is only 5 minutes of walking.  Next we re-enter the woodland and climb to the top of Blackwater Hill.  This hill is quite steep but we will take our time and there are no more hills after this one! Then we walk along the ridge enjoying the lovely views until we reach St Catherine's Hill and our next viewpoint. We will be able to see Christchurch, Hengistbury Head and on a clear day the Isle of Wight!  We then begin the return journey, taking a slightly different route back to the car park.  This is lovely exploration of woodland, planted on heathland.  It is not usually muddy, but please be prepared with the correct footwear just in case.
