Walk Description:

Subject to weather and ground conditions at the time. This two hour ramble will take you along the paths and byways through this beautiful area of Leicestershire. Follow footpaths through fields and farm land, constitutional along the canal, wander through the woodlands - the possibilities are endless. Come prepared for mud and STILES - some of which are quite high!

Meet at School Road Car Park (LE8 0JE), adjacent to the Grammar School Hall.

The pace will be steady, to suit the ability of the group.

This walk combines the use of public pavements, marked footpaths through working farmland and may include a section on the towpath alongside the Grand Union Canal. Please be aware that this may be narrow and/or uneven, and at the side of the canal mooring rings present a possible trip hazard.

The farm tracks and towpath could be slippery and/or muddy if wet.

The walk traverses several stiles of varying height (some of which are very high!); there are also several agricultural and kissing gates along the way.

Most of the walk is level, but there is a steep, narrow incline to access the canal towpath. Where the walk uses public pavements, such as Kibworth High Street, please respect other land users and maintain a suitable social distance from other people. Take appropriate safety precautions such as walking in single file.

When joining us we ask you to read and agree to these safety measures.

We aim to be respectful towards members of the public and reassure them of our safe practices. Participants are required to register and complete an online health questionnaire in advance. If you feel unwell between booking and joining the class, we ask you to err on the side of caution and cancel your booking. You will be re-credited, and can rebook for a future date or a refund can be issued. Please bring a small backpack or bum bag with water and a snack if required.

If you have any questions, please use the contact details to get in touch.
