A gentle WALX that is aimed at those who have suffered from COVID-19 and want to get back out walking in a safe, friendly and supervised environment, that incorporates balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of tai chi or relaxation too.
A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter. Join our Wellbeing WALX Guides on a sociable, fun and enjoyable walk. We use strapless urban and activator Nordic Poles, or you can walk without if you prefer. If you have your own poles then bring them along with you.
Whether you have experienced COVID-19, long COVID, feeling anxious about getting out and about after shielding or just following the restrictive rules that have been in place for the last 12 months our WALX guides will welcome you on to Cannock Chase. Our wellbeing guides are qualified to deliver WALX for all levels so it’s never too late to take that first step.
Suitable for those who want to build up to longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health. We like to give some different challenges, which are all appropriate for your levels of fitness and physical ability.
If you are feeling lonely and want to make more friends, feel stiff and lack energy, struggle to get out of your chair; then this class is exactly for you. It will get you moving whilst having fun and all sessions are adapted to ensure everyone feels part of the group.
The routes will primarily be around the Marquis Drive Visitor Centre enabling us to utilise the open area whilst staying close to your vehicles, you will never be far away from your car. As you become stronger we can then offer longer WALX.
We offer a chance to catch-up and chat with friends or if you prefer to enjoy being outdoors but want some time to yourself let us worry about the route and you can enjoy your surroundings safely.
Remember: Monthly membership gives you unlimited WALX for only £24.99 per month
