Walk Description:

2 hour circular walk starting at Durlston Castle.

Walking down to the lighthouse, with lovely views of the coast Including Tilly Whim caves.

We then follow the south West Coast path along to Dancing ledge , so called because at certain stages of the tide, as the waves crash over the surface, the surface causes the water to bobble around to make it appear as if it dancing!

Please bring a drink and a bite to eat so we can stop here and take in the views! We will be walking past wild flower meadows and skylark nesting sites and also a few orchids will probably be putting on a show.

In the spring you can see a variety of wildlife and nesting seabirds, and you never know even one of our resident dolphins! keep your eyes peeled.

We then turn inland and begin to climb up to the top path, a steady climb, with yet more incredible views.

The first part of the walk is on pavement down to the lighthouse, so please being your PAWS.

Take away refreshments at Durlston Castle, and toilets at the discovery centre.

Lots of parking. Parking costs between £1 - £2 per hour depending on the time of year.
