Walk Description:

SUMMER SUNDOWNER with WALX IN THE FOREST

A Smuggler's Sunset!

EARLIER START AT 6pm

Come and join us for an evening Explorer walk in the New Forest while the evenings are lighter and the weather (hopefully) is perfect for an inspiring walk, maybe followed by a sundowner at the local hostelry!

This walk is an Explorer walk so is open to both Nordic and non-Nordic walkers and is suitable for those who can walk at an average / moderate pace managing hills without too much trouble.

Please check with Janet if you are unsure if this walk is suitable for you.

Picket Post is known to be one of, if not the best place in the New Forest to see the sunset as it is high and faces due west.

However, to avoid the crowds and get a bit of a walk in, we will start and finish at Smuggler's car park and find our own viewing point away from the huge lenses!

Please bring a head torch and hi vis jacket if you have them as it will be getting quite dark as we head back to the car park. I have some to lend you if you don't have your own.

For full Bookings, payments and cancellation rules please see walxintheforest.co.uk.

Please Note:

Please do not use the postcode to find locations in the New Forest. They often take you to the wrong place as they cover groups of house. Use what3words or the name of the location.

Please bring a head torch and hi vis jacket if you have them as it will be getting quite dark as we head back to the car park. I have some to lend you if you don't have your own. There are no gates or stiles.  The route is flat, level paths and pavements. Dogs are welcome but will have to be on a lead for most of this walk. Please make sure you have filled out a dog disclaimer form from Janet before bringing Fido.
