We will begin in the village of Sixpenny Handley, heading quickly onto footpaths which surround the village towards Deanland. We then cross arable farmland leading us into Chase Woods. Here the paths are good as we walk through a variety of established trees, and for a short time cross the county boarder into Wiltshire, before returning to Dorset and through woodland owned and managed by the Rushmore Estate. Next we leave the woods to pass through more farmland with nice views, before heading back towards the village. This walk is mostly flat with some undulations, but NO big hills. There are also NO stiles, and at the time of recce all farmland was arable so NO cows! Please bring a packed lunch and something to sit on as there will be a picnic stop halfway around. Please also come prepared with the correct clothing and footwear for the weather on the day. Note: there are no toilets on this route.
