Walk Description:

Learn how to walk with poles, (Nordic Walking).

This 90 minute session will introduce you to Nordic Walking using poles with ledges and straps. The session will include:

Introduction to poles with ledges and straps Warm up (moblity) exercises Using  both types of poles to walk more easily and improve fitness Cool down stretches

The group is limited to six places, so there will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and get to know your fellow participants. There will be a short break during the session and you are advised to bring a snack and a drink.

Depending on the time of year, bring sunscreen, water, a hat, gloves and a waterproof coat.

 

On completion of the session, you will gain your Freedom Passport, what enables you to join any suitable Nordic Walking UK walks and classes.

At the end of the session you will be able to compare the differences between the two types of poles, so that you know which are best for you. You should allow an extra 30 minutes for this optional activity.

Priority is given to residents of Waltham Forest.
