Join us for a walk along the Grand Union Canal Towpath at Crow Mills. After passing the bridges and locks we will cross a stile or two to cut back across the field paths towards Countesthorpe, returning along the foot path to our starting point.
This is a level walk, but does require that you can cross a couple of stiles. The towpath can be very muddy in places, and please be aware that as the fields form the flood meadows for the River Sense, in the event of bad weather conditions walks may have to be re-routed or cancelled.
Meet: At the car park just south of Crow Mills Bridge on Countesthorpe Road. If the car park is full, limited parking is available along Mill Lane. Please park responsibly.
Terrain: This walk uses the canal towpath which can be narrow, and muddy. It then traverses field paths which make up the flood plain for the River Sense. Please wear suitable footwear.
Pace: The pace will be steady, to suit the group. Walking poles are NOT required for this activity. Members holding a valid Freedom Passport are welcome to walk with Nordic Poles.
Refreshments and toilets are not available at this venue.
Elevation: Negligible inclines.
