WALK LEADER JULIE SPRATLEY of Walx Dorset
Leaving from Nunton on a tarmac path this circular route takes us on a steady upward path passing Nunton Copse before taking a grassy track to Clearbury Ring Fort.
With wonderful views all around we'll take a short break before following the path down on field edge paths where the grass may be long (long trousers/tick repellent cream advised)
Picking up the Avon Valley Path we'll then make our way back to the start on pretty paths past Nunton Dairy and the church of St Andrew.
**UPDATE - the downwards path is impassable (20th June 2021) so we will return on the same path, making the walk approx. 6 miles and 2.5 hours **
Refreshments can be enjoyed at the Radnor Arms afterwards (optional) - parking at the pub has been granted by kind permission of the landlady but ONLY if you intend returning for a drink afterwards. Please park on the roadside as detailed in the walk description if you have no intention of doing so.
Poles optional - varying terrain with long grass on the downward section.
Suitable footwear is required appropriate for the season and weather conditions.
Please bring a small bottle of water in hot weather especially.
