Walk Description:

The three churches of St Michael & All Angels, St Mary & St Lawrence, and St John the Baptist will be passed on this lovely, quintessentially English, moderate-paced walk of between 4 & 5 miles.

Starting in Coombe Bissett and following the River Ebble on a mostly level path with gentle undulations in parts, a number of stiles and gates, and interest all around, you will love this charming walk with views across the meadows, pretty cottages, clear chalk streams, and countryside views.

As we leave Stratford Tony the path turns into a gentle incline up a tarmac track, then follows a grassy downland path before climbing again & following a narrow corridor to exit at a flight of uneven, somewhat steep steps.

We follow the road into Bishopstone crossing the pretty bridge to the church before retracing our steps and following the River Ebble back towards Stratford Tony across fields often shared with sheep and with another incline at the exit gate.

The walk timing is approximate as we will take our time to visit all the churches if wished and explore the pretty villages too.

Poles optional - varying terrain. Paths may be muddy after rainfall so appropriate footwear is required.

Refreshments can be enjoyed afterwards in the Fox & Goose pub.
