Walk Description:

So once a month our weekenders continue following the Pewsey Vale Circular Route. This month we are doing section 6 from Collingbourne Woods to Oxenwood.

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

Today`s Walk: Starting at Collingbourne Ducis we walk through the woods towards Hippenscombe Bottom then exploring the countryside towards Fosbury Hill Fort and ending in Oxenwood. Around 10 miles of the Pewsey Vale Circular Route.

This walk is a longer walk and is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless activiator poles.

Length and Grade: A 10 mile walk with elevation gain of 800ft - although there are hills we take the eroute at the pace of the group - there is one steeper hill in the middle of the walk.

Location: The walk starts at Collinbourne Ducis and ends at Oxenwood. We need to organise lift shares to the start and back. Please email me on text on 07540 784959 to arrange.

Notes: There are no facilites on this walk so please bring a picnic for a mid walk break where we can sit and take in the views (weather permitting).

Please bring your own equipment or if you need to borrow poles you will be provided with Activator strapless poles which are much easier to clean.

If you have any Covid symptoms or are in contact with another person who tests positive for C-19 please do not attend the walk and use the cancel button on your confirmation to remove yourself. If you develop symptoms with 72 hours of attending a walk please let me know.

The Pewsey Vale Circular Way - the walking route for which is just over 77 miles and follows rights of way with the Vale of Pewsey at its heart.  This route includes dramatic downland with exceptional views, quintessential English villages and country pubs, the tranquility of the Kennet & Avon Canal and the beauty of walking through the Vale, surrounded by stunning downland. The route is divided into 7 sections - we will be walking these each month over rest of the year.
