Walk Description:

Join Justin and Lizzie on the Purbeck 20 mile challenge walk!

This beautiful walk will test us all as we start off from the National Trust car park in Corfe and head up Challow Hill and along to Nine Barrow Down where we get great views of Poole Harbour, Swanage Bay and the surrounding hills.

We then decend into Swanage and walk along the beach heading out to Peveril Point lookout. Here is where we will have our first short coffee break, relax and take in the views of the bay!.

We will the climb up the Downs and along to Durlston Castle. There are Orchids out there at the moment and the Gilliemots are back so keep your eyes peeled.

Following the South West Coast path we will continue along to Dancing Ledge and out to Seacombe Quarry. This will be our longer stop to refuel, have lunch and change our socks!. The views from here are beautiful and we feel the best place to stop and rest.

From here we continue along to Winspit Quarry; this is where the recent Star Wars series was filmed. and on to the toughest but most spectacular section of the walk, Chapmans Pool.

We walk out to St Aldhelm's Head and round to Emmetts Hill. At this point there are lots of steep steps leading down and then straight back up. We then follow the path round to the foot of Houns Tout, and begin the steep climb up. You will be pleased to hear at this point we will make our final rest to recover slightly and take in the views.

The last section is the easiest section. We walk down hill into Houns-Tout carpark, through Kingston, Corfe Common  and back to Corfe wherewe have Dinner!

Please note this is a hard walk and is for experinced walkers only

Please bring plenty of food, drink and a change of socks and wear supportive footwear.
