Walk Description:
Our walk in the Surrey Hills takes us through magical woodlands. It includes two very steep climbs and descents, but we are rewarded with spectacular views. Take on the challenge of this walk and you will deserve to feel very pleased with yourself.
Key sights
Box Hill and its famous vewpoint Juniper Top Norbury Park Druid's GroveOur longer Explorer WALX are open to all, exploring beautiful areas in and around London. Routes are planned with breaks and the opportunity for refreshments but this isn't just a ramble; we'll encourage the good posture and motivation to push yourself as we do in all our WALX.
If you'd like to benefit from using Nordic walking poles, we advise you attend a Learn to Nordic WALX workshop. Walkers without poles or with trekking poles are very welcome.
Monthly Payment clients £10; Pre-paid Credit clients £16 - price adjusted at payment.
Time: Meet outside Box Hill and West Humble Station ready to start at 10.30 am.
Trains run from London Victoria and Waterloo every hour. You will need to catch the 9.24 am from Waterloo or the 9.25 am from Victoria.
Return trains run every hour. We will aim to finish the walk by 3.30 pm
Refreshments Bring your own snacks and drink for a picnic lunch. There is a good cafe and a pub (very busy at the weekend) just before the last section of the walk where we can stop for coffee/tea/cake.
Toilets - no toilets at the staion so go on the train if necessary.
