Note 10.20am meet up for a prompt 10.30am start. Miriam's Friday Meander is an easy/moderate pace fortnightly walk of around 4 miles, ideal for those who who would like to build their distance and stamina to a point that they can join Workout Walks and longer Adventure Walks. The walks are based in countryside locations easily accessed from the East Lancashire Road (A580) or M56/M60/M62/M61 corridors. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! When allowed/feasible there is an optional brew stop at a local cafe or pub after the walk or sometimes a bring your own mid walk 'Rucksack cafe'.
THIS WEEK - Dingle, Dam & Bongs at Lymm. Enjoy the beautiful woodlands surrounding Lymm Dam, The Dingle & the ancient wetland area known as the Bongs on this walk of circa 4 miles. No toilet facilities at the walk but plenty of places for a 'wild'. The nearest facilities are at the lovely cafes in Lymm Village if you want to stop for a drink before or after the walk, or at Lymm Truck Stop services on the roundabout at the junction of the M6 & M56. Part of the route may be muddy so come prepared with appropriate footwear. Bring a drink & a snack with you.
Meeting point: Lymm Dam Car Park WA13 0AP (junction of Crouchley Lane and the A56). Take the M56 to junction 7 then follow A56, Higher Lane to Lymm (approx. 4 miles). Turn left onto Crouchley Lane from the A56, Higher Lane, BEFORE crossing the Dam, and the car park is on the right hand side.

PLEASE NOTE, you need to have your own poles to attend this walk as no poles will be available for hire on the day unless by prior arrangement.
IMPORTANT - Covid-19 requirements and protocols
1 - Participants must stay 2m apart wherever possible (min 1m+) and respect other participants personal space upon arrival, during and when leaving a session.
2 - Participants must adhere to instructions given by the instructor/walk leader at all times including walking patterns adopted by the group and the adoption of double bubble small groups.
3 - Face coverings are optional. However please bring one with you in case they are needed. (a scarf or similar is fine). It is also advisable to bring a small bottle of hand sanitiser with you.
The walk will start and finish promptly so give yourself plenty of time.
We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains).
Please remember to bring 1 - bottle of water and an energy boosting snack 2 - any medications you may need 3 - a small rucksack as you`ll need both hands free at all times 4 - a mobile phone is useful for any last minute notifications. Depending on the time of year you may need sunscreen, insect repellent and a hat ( if hot) and gloves, warm clothing and a flask (if cold!).
