MIKE`S LONGER 2-3 HOUR TUESDAY ADVENTURE WALK (meet at 10.20am for a prompt 10.30am start time) - Led by Parks and Pathways Walk Leader Mike Podmore. It will be a moderate pace 2 -3 hour walk of around 5 to 8 miles from different locations taking place at least twice a month when Mike is available.
THIS WEEK- come and enjoy a stunning 6 mile walk (2.5 to 3 hours) from lovely Redesmere Lake, (near Capesthorne Hall). This walk is a flat 6 miles which has 2 stiles to cross and is mostly on good tracks/roads. From the car park we will walk around Redesmere Lake with it's sailing club. We then join a grassy track which take us along the edge of the lake at Capesthorne Hall which we see across the water. After passing through a wood called The Mosses we then walk round various reservoirs passing through Withington Park to Privet Wood. We then follow a country lane through the delightful villages of Whisterfield and Siddington before walking through a wood back to the start.
Its a rucksack cafe today so bring your own drink and snack. There are no toilet facilities but plenty of places for 'wild' on route. Please note that there is some walking on country roads where extra care is needed.
Meeting point - Redesmere Lake Car Park, Redesmere Lane. Using Google Maps search for Redesmere Lake, Redesmere Lane, near Siddington SK11 9JR. Do not just use the postcode. From the M60, leave at junction 3 and follow the A34 for around 13 miles. At the A34 Congleton Road roundabout keep going south, pass Capesthorne Hall on the right. The turning for Redesmere Lane is on the left just after the sign for the village hall, 2.7 miles after the A34 roundabout and the car park is on the left.
