Walk Description:

The Power of the Poles is an introductory course which consists of two 90 minute sessions, one week after the other.  As a result of attending this course, you will experience what it feels like to use the poles as you swing your arms to engage your upper body, gently increase your pace whilst walking and you will feel the exercise benefits.

Learning the introductory skills will result in a Freedom Passport which means you can join Nordic Walking Brockenhurst's walks as often as you wish, receiving further coaching to develop your technique. The first month's membership is completely free (worth £31). The walk locations and walking options are varied – a great way to get to know the New Forest and nearby coastal routes, as well as making new friends whilst increasing your fitness. You'll also be qualified to join any other accredited Nordic Walking UK instructor in the country.

Equipment for learning the skills is supplied by us. We use Urban poles without straps at the start as these are the easiest poles for learning the basic techniques and then you are introduced to the Nordic walking poles with straps later, enabling you to decide which poles you will prefer to buy. We focus on getting you going with Nordic Walking – technique basics, early results and enjoyment!

Part Two will be at 2.30 the following week.
