Walk Description:

Would you like to meet up with like-minded people who enjoy fun and exercise in the fresh air? Well the Kibworth is just the place for you to do this! Are you a Nordic Walker? Bring your poles! If you aren't a pole walker, that's no problem! You are just as welcome! Most of all, it's a chance to meet and chat with people who share a passion for walking. What a great way to finish the day!

Meet at School Road Car Park (LE8 0JE), adjacent to the Grammar School Hall.

The pace will be steady, to suit the ability of the group. Walking poles are NOT required to enjoy this activity, but if you have been awarded your Freedom Passport you are welcome to use poles.

This walk combines the use of public pavements, marked footpaths through working farmland and may include a section on the towpath alongside the Grand Union Canal. Please be aware that this may be narrow and/or uneven, and at the side of the canal mooring rings present a possible trip hazard.

The farm tracks and towpath could be slippery and/or muddy if wet. Stout footwear is essential.

The walks may traverse several stiles of varying height (some of which are quite high and wide, but many have now been replaced by gates - phew!); there are also several agricultural and kissing gates along the way.

Most of the walk is level, but there is a steep, narrow incline to access the canal towpath. Where the walk uses public pavements, such as Kibworth High Street, please respect other land users and maintain a suitable social distance from other people. Take appropriate safety precautions such as walking in single file.

When joining us we ask you to read and agree to these safety measures.

We aim to be respectful towards members of the public and reassure them of our safe practices. Participants are required to register and complete an online health questionnaire in advance. If you feel unwell between booking and joining the class, we ask you to err on the side of caution and cancel your booking. You will be re-credited, and can rebook for a future date or a refund can be issued. Please bring a small backpack or bum bag with water and a snack if required.

If you have any questions, please use the contact details to get in touch.
