WALX FRESH HEALTH is the new name of Nordic Walking Kent WALX FRESH HEALTH is a COVID SECURE CLUB. We offer taster sessions, Power of Poles intro workshops, and regular classes in Bedgebury Forest, Sissinghurst and around Biddenden and Tenterden. The club is made up of enthusiastic and friendly members who are great company, welcoming and a pleasure to be with. WALX Fresh Health is run by John Dent. John was one of the early adopters of Nordic Walking (having been trained by Martine Christie – the founder of Nordic Walking Uk). WALX FRESH HEALTH aims to be a centre of excellence for Kent & Sussex for anyone who loves outdoor activity and nature. Our WALX club offers a range of classes during the day, evening and also at the weekend.

Role: WALX Master
John Dent has over twenty years’ experience as a Sports Scientist & Rehab Specialist helping others enjoy exercise and get back to fitness.. John was a junior international Rugby player and member of the Racing Club De France Rugby squad in the early 90”s. His health coaching practice provides additional help and support when needed. Exercise programming, 1:1 coaching, sport & remedial massage and rehabilitation are all available too. John was one of the early adopters of Nordic Walking in the UK and has fully embraced the transition to the WALX brand giving you more choice of how you enjoy the great outdoors. John has been teaching for over 14 years, running private courses and classes in both London and Kent.
Whatever your ability we aim to help you challenge yourself and achieve success at your own pace. We are always keen for you to share your favorite walks too.

Having had a tough last 18 months, with one thing and another, I knew I needed to find something that would energise and revitalise me. As I have always enjoyed walking and trekking, when I read an article on Nordic Walking in a newspaper, I decided to look to see if I could find a local instructor. From the very first session with John, I knew that I had found a very rewarding activity! I now walk every week with a small group of like minded enthusiasts under John's guidance, and it is not only providing me with enormous fitness benefits, but is also, at the same, very enjoyable.
Nordic walking with John at Bedgebury forest provides the perfect combination of good cardio workout and being outside in nature. John’s experience of guiding walks and his knowledge of anatomy means that we are very well looked after, with plenty of interesting routes and tips along the way. I throughly recommend it.
I have been Nordic walking with this group since January 2019. I was looking to improve my general fitness and stamina for long distance walking events. I have certainly achieved that! I really look forward to the sessions, the groups are friendly and welcoming. John is a fantastic leader, taking us on a variety of routes, with strength and stability exercises along the way in the beautiful Kent countryside. As John is a sports scientist and holistic health coach, he is a fountain of knowledge, often giving health tips and advice. I have never felt healthier or fitter than I do right now. I would not hesitate to recommend John and Walk Fresh Health.
