Let’s Move It

Have you recently been listening to Radio Two?  They are using the weeks of summer to promote movement and get everyone active, with ‘Let’s Move It’.

They are having different DJs complete different activities and encourage movement with them on the radio.

In our current newsletter, we have spoken about the balance of moving the body, as well as relaxation.

Radio Two want you to move your body everyday, which is something we always like to remind you of.  Whether this is for physical gain or as a way to clear the mind.

This is a great campaign to encourage individuals to start moving as it can be hard to create the habit of challenging the body daily.  There are too many daily distractions which take precedence.

With the summer to build movement into your daily routine, this will give you a great start to making positive change and encourage a healthier you, as well as the nation.

To keep you motivated, you can pledge your summer ‘Let’s Move It’ goal on their communication page.

We know all of you are motivated to get out walking, especially over the warmer months, but we wondered if there is an activity you have always wanted to try which, for whatever reason, you have not got round to it?  Or has a friend or family member spoken about relapsing every time they start exercising? Is this summer campaign the time to give it a go and encourage family and friends?

You can be as creative as you like with your movement.  Is there something which will compliment your walking?  Is there a sport you see on the Olympics which you would like to try out? You need to move your body every day, and get out of breath, continuing up to the 23rd August.  We are adding in the extra rule of a minimum of 20 minutes.

We think this is a challenge which you can all achieve or may even find easy.  It is about movement and community.  Two things we know you can all succeed.
