Nordic WALX are what we do best! We can teach you how to walk with poles for propulsion and a whole body workout and once you have mastered it at the right level and with the right poles for you, we will give you a Freedom passport that will give you access to Nordic WALX with us and NWUK.

Just a few examples of what might be included in our Nordic WALX – if you are new to pole walking we can teach you and if you are a regular poler (who has completed the induction, we have walks especially for Nordic walking aficionados whatever the pace.

Power of Poles Induction Course

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This course will help you understand how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges. Broken into 2 x 1.5 hours sessions ( the second being optional) this course will ensure you get the correct movement and techniques from the start and progress to part two to gain more advanced skills.

Power of Poles Session Two

For those who have completed the Power of Poles intro course and want to explore how to get more out of using either strapless or  Nordic style strapped poles with drills and advanced technique tuition. Your Instructor will help you gain a more comprehensive understanding of poles and how to maximise them for everything from fitness walking to running. This session involves plenty of practice, fault correction and personal guidance in order to leave you with a great understanding of using poles for progression, fitness and results.

Nordic WALX

Exploring with your Nordic walking poles – just like our everyday Explorers but for pole walkers only. You will need to have your FREEDOM passport to join these sessions as the leader needs to know that you can use poles correctly. Pace may vary so make sure you read the description.


Nordic TBW WALX are again for those with FREEDOM passports and include drills where the poles are used to work on cardiovascular fitness, strength and stride. Using the NWUK gear system and fun drills your Instructor will make sure you get a full pole walking workout.

Wellness Nordic WALX

Gentle Nordic walking sessions for those who want to master pole walking for balance and health. Expert tuition that will help you to use poles effectively whether you have a medical condition, restricted movement or just feel unfit and in need of a reboot.
