What can we look forward to?…

Firstly, the evenings get lighter. We can enjoy longer days and more opportunities to get out and enjoy the natural light.

Sunlight provides us with vitamin D.  As we get older, it is vital we get enough vitamin D, as it is good for our bones and teeth.

As a result of more sunlight hours our mood improves. Research tells us
sunlight exposure increases our body’s release of serotonin in the brain making us happier.

The temperature starts to rise. There gentle heat of the sun on our faces can be very uplifting after the cold months of winter. In the spring we can wear lighter clothes on our walks. It is so nice to be able to move more freely.

The spring flowers are always joyful to see. Favourite walks this time of year are often Bluebell and Blossom walks. They mark the arrival of warmer weather.

The trees start to bud, and the leaves begin to fill the branches. They will provide us with shade in the summer months.

The landscape becomes greener and for walkers more paths become accessible.

We can bring the outside into our homes by opening the windows. We can enjoy fresh air indoors.

Mother Nature provides us with all these special gifts. Let’s pay her back by getting out and enjoying all that nature brings.
