This month we are delighted to shine our spotlight on Charlotte Marsden, our well deserved member of the month.  Charlotte has been part of WALX Dorset since September 2019.

Charlotte is based in the New Forest and has walked with  many of different instructors and groups and now she is part of WALX Dorset and walks mainly in Chris Pole’s group.

Charlotte makes it a priority to fit her WALX into her life – often arranging her work around her walks so that she never misses a chance to get out and enjoy the miles. You’ll often find her joining us on routes ranging anywhere from three to seven miles, keeping her fitness levels high with regular walking. Of course, for Charlotte, it’s not just about the exercise — as its clear she treasures the social side as much as the physical benefits.

One of the reasons Charlotte stands out is her thoughtfulness. She’s always respectful, kind, and encouraging — aware of others and she has a gentle way of looking out for fellow walkers, often noticing if they struggle and making sure the pace is adjusted so that everyone enjoys the walk. It is this attentiveness that makes her a brilliant back marker, welcoming, inclusive and caring in the group.

Charlotte brings a wealth of knowledge and curiosity to the walks. She has a keen eye for the natural world pointing out a butterfly or a flower in bloom. Her love of the New Forest and outdoors shines through.

Charlotte embodies the WALX ethos — balancing fitness with friendship and nature with nurture. And some of you may know Charlotte bakes a fantastic cake!

Charlotte is, quite simply, a tonic for us all. We’re so fortunate to have her as part of our WALX family, and this recognition is a small way of saying thank you for everything she brings to our walks.
