As we head into a new month, we sadly say goodbye to Justine and Rajneet who have been working with us since October 2020 managing our social media platforms to create customer engagement and grow our demographic.
As Marketing Students at Birmingham City University, they have certainly done a fantastic job and set the bar high.
A huge thank you Justine and Rajneet; it has been a pleasure working with you both and we wish you all the very best in your future careers.

We haven’t got off to a very good start with this month’s newsletter being late but we will endeavour to improve!!

We would like to thank Mel for her testimonial; check it out on our website/social media. We would welcome your own experiences of WALX on The Chase so If you would like to get involved, please email us at walx@walxonthechase.co.uk, we would love to hear from you!

Click your WALX

Thank you to those of you who got involved in our Click your WALX photography competition. The winner was Emma, our congratulations go to her and will soon be followed by a WALX T-Shirt.
We encourage you all to tag us into your WALX social media posts so that we can share them with a wider audience.

In June we reached 100 Instagram followers, this is down to the hard work of Justine and Rajneet. One of our first virtual meetings involved us setting up the account so reaching the milestone before they left was a great achievement.

Facebook Live

Another legacy from Justine and Rajneet was our first Facebook live broadcast. It is still available if you have some spare time. Having now done one I can honestly say we will try and make any future ones more interesting, shorter and limited to a specific subject.

Freedom Passports

A warm welcome goes out to Janet and Carl who were awarded their Freedom Passports on 30 June. We look forward to having you join us on some of our walks.

Bring a Friend for Free

We will be continuing the Bring a Friend for Free in July so if you have a friend who you think would benefit from or enjoy Nordic Walking but they are anxious about attending on their own, bring them along to one of our special open sessions. For anyone who would like to try, please get them to register and complete the Health Assessment and we can then get them registered for a walk.

Wellness WALX

We have added some Wellness WALX to our schedule. These walks start and finish at Birches Valley, Marquis Drive Visitor Centre, or Milford Common where there are toilets and refreshments available before and after the class. The walk will generally be around 1 hour and be no more than 2 miles on flat terrain or mild undulations but certainly no big hills. It’s an opportunity to enjoy the scenery and nature available, whether it be on the open heathlands or in the forests, across the Chase with time to share the experiences with other like-minded people. During the walk we will pause for a period to incorporate some balance work, flexibility and strength exercises. Great for those who are getting back into exercise, have a health condition or simply want to move well and be fit for life!

What Motivates you? We have a Facebook post currently active (pinned at the top of the page) and would love to hear what motivates you and what additional support we could offer.

Walk of the Month

June’s Walk of The Month was the Weekend Explorer WALX on Saturday 5 June We were once again blessed with the weather. Walking from the Punchbowl through Haywood Park Covert and then up to the Sundial overlooking Brocton before descending into Mere Valley and returning to the car park. Check it out on our social media and website and let us know what your favourite walk of the month was!

Our first Slow ways walk is on Sunday 11 July and starts and finishes in Rugeley Town Centre. The walk is free and open to anyone who would like to join us with or without poles. Starting at 8.00 am the walk is approximately 8 miles and should take us just under 3 hours.  Please book via our website in the usual way. We will be making notes to feedback to the Slowways project.

Hope to see you soon!
