My name is Jodie Phillips, and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a particular passion for supporting women through peri-menopause and menopause. This stage of life can be challenging and overwhelming, and through my own personal experience, I understand just how significantly it can impact physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing. I connected with Sharon through Walx on the Chase at a time when my health was being affected by peri-menopause. I was looking for an activity that offered not only physical exercise, but also connection, support, and time outdoors. I can honestly say that both the exercise and the community have played a vital role in helping me manage the stresses of menopause. More than two years on, I haven’t looked back. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based and recommended approach for managing menopausal symptoms, as depression, anxiety, and low mood can often develop or be exacerbated during this period of change. Physical exercise is also a key component in supporting hormonal balance and overall wellbeing, and walking works for all levels of fitness. The collaboration between CBT and the female-led Walx group offers a powerful and holistic combination, and one we are passionate about sharing with you.
