A Different Perspective.

Recently I decided to take a walk that was away from the usual routes that I follow, and the viewpoint that I eventually reached presented me with a panoramic vista (pic attached) over the area that I usually walk. It was the perfect time to pause and reflect on how the regular, despite variety on a theme can become mundane and the realisation that although living in such a beautiful area we often do not give ourselves enough time to appreciate the natural majesty of it all.

My experience and training in forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) started to kick in at that point and I realised that of late I had been too busy with all life’s traffic, that I had not taken enough time to really reflect and practice a little of what I preach, just for me, my time, so I lingered and relaxed a bit more. It was dark and gone 10pm by the time I got home but felt great.

I suppose the moral to this story is take time to relax and if you have not already tried forest bathing /shinrin-yoku then do please give it a try, it is well worth the investment of time and money to take an introductory session with one of the many Walx instructors who have become guides in this practice, I say guides as it is guidance along a path and not a how to do, that is for you to discover the benefits you can take from the experience.

Enjoy your Walx
