We started our Capital Ring Challenge in January 2024 so we were excited to complete the challenge as we set out on 14th March. I had wondered if this would be a more urban street walk as, although I’ve lived in NW or W London for over 40 years, I wasn’t aware of much ‘green’ around Greenford. How wrong was I!
We have a wonderful walk along parts of the Grand Union Canal and then the River Brent. The weather wasn’t brilliant and it did start to rain when we reached Perivale but luckily this was just a short shower. We made it to The Railway pub near Greenford Station and had not only a very warm welcome but was able to take up the offer of 2 main courses for £12.99. Excellent value for a delicious beef pie and fries – what a way to end our challenge.
This has been a great series of walks and we thank Go Jauntly and their excellent App for guiding us around London, finding places we had never visited and maybe only seen on Underground or Overground maps.
