Section 1 of the Capital Ring

This was the 9th walk we have completed on the Capital Ring but the actual start of the walk described by TfL. After a coffee and pastry from Gail’s Bakery outside Woolwich Station we first went looking for the Rhino Banksy along the Thames path. Unfortunately the van the rhino had been drawn against had been moved and a bit of grafitti had appeared but we were happy to find it. We then spent the rest of the walk in very pleasant green spaces such as Charlton Common and Oxleas Wood. The cafe and view over Oxleas Meadow was a fantastic surprise as none of us knew this side of London. It is a longer walk of about 8 miles and took us 4 hours but definitely worth it.
