Walk Description:

Marple Bridge Nordic Walks

Come along and join us on easy paced social walks of around 5km (3miles), on varied circular routes around the village of Marple Bridge. There are canals, country parks, woodland, riverside paths, bridlepaths and some industrial heritage too.

Time 9:30 - 11:00 Gear 1-2 and hill technique

Distance approx distance of 5km (3 Miles)

Elevation Gain varies Terrain a variety of woodland trails, rocky bridlepaths, canal towpaths, fields and quiet roads.

What to expect. 

There is a short warm-up before the walk and stretches after it.

A supportive social atmosphere

No need to worry about navigation Led by an experienced Nordic Walking Instructor who is Outdoor First Aid Trained

We meet in the Free Car Park just above The Midland Hotel on Brabyns Brow, The red bays are 4 hours "Short Stay" so if one is free grab it!

Tips to help get the most out of your walk:

1  Suitable clothing and footwear - layers are best

2  A small rucksac 

3  Light refreshments (water, fruit juice, etc)

4 Mobile phone is useful for any last minute changes

6 Please contact me if you need to hire poles, £1 payable on the day of the walk 

Dogs - If you bring a dog it must be on a lead and under control at all times, I use a harness with mine and would be happy to offer advice on buying one, you must also be able to help your dog over stiles etc. where needed.

First Aid - You will need to bring your own basic First Aid Kit (Plasters, Bite and Sting Cream, Suncream etc recommended)

The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.

Location Notes:

We use the car park just above The Midland Hotel, it is Free parking, the Red Bays are 4 hour ‘short stay bays’, there is extra parking over the road in Brabyns Park, and up the hill too. We either meet in the Carpark or just next to the main road in the Park. There are other Free Car parks nearby too.
