Walk Description:

An easy walk with one small hill. This is a 6 mile walk taking about 2.5 hours.

Starting from the Golf club we are on a small road for about five minutes then onto gravel and sandy paths around the edge of Holt/Whitesheet nature reserve.

Entering Uddens woods we take a loop up to Cannon Hill Plantation by crossing a road. The trail is on wide gravel paths, occasional small paths with tree roots. There is a hill up to the top of the woods.

We will pass an interesting area which is being restored to a mire by the Dorset Peat Partnership Project. Funding by Natural England and involves Forestry England and the Uddens work party. {A local conservation charity of volunteers.}

Circling the whole of the plantation taking in some off shoot paths for interest we then come back down via a view point to the end of the plantation.

Across the road and back on another trail through Uddens woods to the Golf club.

Option for coffee/snacks/cake after at the club which has outside seating.

Parking is free. Toilets in the club.

We start near the very large pylon which is towards the back hedge, we can gather in that area.

Location Notes:

Loads of Parking spaces - free parking. Meet near to the pylon. What3words location name: spider.banks.defend
