Walk Description:

This is a Gear 2 walk, longer in distance but a less demanding gradient and compliments the shorter steeper Gear 2 walk scheduled earlier in the week. Enjoy the huge open space of Salisbury Plain and the sound of the larks. Long gentle inclines on turf and hard tracks. The exact route will be defined by army maneuvers on the day. This is a great walk to establish a good uninterrupted rhythm. The mileage is not precise, but walkers should be comfortable walking 5 miles.

Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.

Location Notes:

From Andover take the Marlborough and Devizes Road A342. Go through Ludgershall, stay on A342 to Devizes. On entering Everleigh, take a left turn signed to Haxton and Nether Avon. Follow the road for approx 1/4 mile. The car park is on your left on a right bend.
