Walk Description:

A tranquil wander through the heather clad heath and moorland that forms part of a vast nature reserve overlooking Poole Harbour. This unique habitat said by some to be the inspiration for Thomas Harrys Egdon Heath is wild and wonderful, especially just before dusk falls. Dotted with bird hides, home to rare reptiles and a host of birds including the Dartford warbler it is magical. Grazed by horses, donkeys and even wild pigs it is managed sensitively and one of the most tranquil locations in Purbeck

Join us for a walk with a short break to sup wild heather tea and/or an optional shot of honey mead or hedgerow gin – taste the landscape!

Location Notes:

From the Norden Roundabout take the road towards Arne over the railway bridge. Single track road and you'll pass Scotland Farm on your right and Middlebere Farm parking area is about a mile further along on the right hand side.
