Walk Description:
Join Carolyne for one of our favourite walks at this time of year. Pamphill is a very pretty little village outside of Wimborne. The walk starts from the Green car park opposite a lovely old church.
The walk takes us down a tree lined, stoney ancient drove that once led all the way to Corfe from Kingston Lacy. We then follow paths that take us along a grassy route to the River Stour.
We follow the river for a short while before reaching Eye Bridge. We then cross fields and take the route up avoiding the roads by passing through fields that may have cattle.
At the top we take some steps and stiles around another windy route following a stream before passing through a little woodland. We then finally go through a couple more fields to reach the car park again.
Pamphill has a cafe, farm shop and gift shop to visit afterwards.
There are a few stiles on this walk and some muddy parts so sturdy shoes are a requirement.
Please bring water and appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather of the day. If we pass through long grass you might want to wear long trousers in case of ticks.
2 hours have been allocated for this walk to allow a gentler pace if needed.
Location Notes:
Free Parking. No facilities but Pamphill Dairy is a short walk away with a cafe, toilet and a farm shop. Meet near the boards that lead onto the Green. This is the church end and not the School end.
