Walk Description:

Christmas WALX 1 - High on the Pewsey Downs.

Today`s Walk: Today we are at Pewsey Downs for a moderate walk up to Milk Hill and round via Alton BArnes White Horse. Great high walk to get your winter fill of light and hopefully sunshine!

This walk is a moderate walk and is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless activiator poles. 

Length and Grade: A 3.5 mile walk - with undulations. There is usually plenty of folliage and berries on this walk if you want to bring secatuers and forage for some greenery for your Christmas decorations.

Location: Start at the car park above Alton Barnes known as Pewsey Downs car park.

Notes: There maybe livestock which we will re-route around if we need to and maybe some mud or overgrown paths.

We can drive to Honeystreet for a coffee after if there is a desire.

Pewsey Downs National Nature Reserve The reserve is located by the Alton Priors White Horse, one mile north of Alton Barnes at the base of Knap Hill. A car park is situated on the minor road leading from Alton Barnes to Lockeridge, which continues to join the A4 west of Marlborough. Please note the postcode is not exact.
