Join the WALX Dorset group for a friendly, sociable walk along the Wareham Forest Sika Trail. this beautiful woodland route is taken at a comfortable, steady medium pace, making it suitable for all abilities. Enjoy fresh forest air, scenic views and relaxed chat with a supportive, welcoming group. perfect for boosting fitness and getting active without feeling rushed.
PLEASE NOTE
Trails could include uneven woodland terrain, tree roots and occasionally muddy sections. There are NO toilet facilities on route so please plan ahead. This area is rural so be aware of ticks and consider suitable clothing.
There is FREE parking available and the route is push chair friendly, although an all terrain pushchair is recommended. Comfortable walking footwear is advised.
Location Notes:
Take the Bere Regis road from Wareham. Travel for about 1 mile, as you leave the outskirts of Wareham look for the sign to the Sika Trail Car Park on the right-hand side. Alternatively if you are you are coming from Bakers arms roundabout head towards Wareham on the A351. At the Holton Heath roundabout, Sandford roundabout and the Morden Road roundabout continue straight on. AT the next roundabout take the 2nd exit right and then at the bottom of the hill roundabout (which is at the back of the railway crossing) also second exit right onto the Bere Road. Continue for approximately 1 mile through the residential area and beyond the 50 mph limit. You will see a sign on the left to the Sika Trail Car Park which is just 100m past the sign on the right hand side of the road.
