20+ miles covering about 15 miles of the Leaden Boot Challenge Route. We will start and finish in Alstonefield. We will be covering Bayley Hill, Nabs Dale, Ilam Rock steps, walking the ridgeline of the Manifold valley over to Wetton. From there we will reach Ecton Hill Trig Point and continue on the Leaden Boot Route from there back to Alstonefield. Expect country lanes, steep climbs, fields, mud, stiles and wonderful views.
Weather permitting, we will be on the go for 10 hours, starting at 8am. Please bring enough food & drink to keep you going. There will be an opportunity to restock supplies in Wetton, Sheen and Hartington.
Please bring waterproofs just in case.
From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.
Location Notes:
Coming via Ilam, it is the first car park on the left in the village. Coming from Ashbourne, in Alstonefield, follow signs to Ilam, Wetton. Car park is on the right, just before leaving the village
