Walk Description:
A beautiful walk from Yarmouth to the Tennyson Monument.
We will meet at the Lymington Ferry Terminal for this lovely day out. We're catching the 09.00 am ferry and need to be there 15 minutes beforehand. From Yarmouth we'll walk along the disused railway to Freeport where there's a chance to stop for coffee. We'll then walk up the beautiful hill to Tennyson Monument to enjoy the breathtaking views and will stop at the top for a picnic lunch (please bring your own). From there we'll follow the coastal path back to Yarmouth, dipping down at Alum Bay where there's an opportunity to get on a bus if anyone's had enough, and stopping at Colewell Bay for a cup of tea before heading back to the ferry. Total mileage is about 13 and some parts are hilly.
The return ferry is at 17.05 arriving in Lymington at 17.45.
Please remember to bring plenty of liquids to drink enroute.
This walk is weather dependent, so please don't book your ferry until nearer the time.
NOTE to non NW Brock members - this walk carries a charge of £18 which the system probably won't take from you. If it doesn't, don't worry, I can email you with details once I've seen you've booked on!
Location Notes:
Car Park is pay and display so make sure you have change. There is an overflow car park further down the road if it's busy so best to allow an extra 5 minutes. Check in 30 minutes before departure.
