Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

On Fridays we like to explore moderate walks around the Pewsey Vale and North Wessex Downs and often start and end at a cafe or pub or bring a flask for a mid walk - cake break!!

Today`s Walk: Today we are at Marden in the Pewsey Vale for a "newish" walk. Starting in Marden we walk via lanes to Chirton and have a look at the wonderful Norman church of St JOhn the Baptist. We then take some lovely shady and leafy footpaths towards Salisbury plain and then towards Marden Henge. Marden Henge is the biggest henge in the country unfortunately not as well preserved as others like Avebury but some ditches and barrows can be seen on our walk.

We end the walk at the Millstream pub for a cold drink/coffee and maybe some lunch.

PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU ARE STAYING AS I MUST BOOK US IN FOR A TABLE.

This walk is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless TBW poles.

Length and Grade: A 4.5 mile walk with little elevation. Easy lanes and footpaths. There are a few stiles on the walk though.

Location: Start at the car park in the Millstream pub. Use the bottom car park and please car share is possible.

Location Notes:

Please park in the bottom car park away from the pub. Car share if possible to save spaces.
