Walk Description:
Join us for a very special one-off walk as part of the Open Gardens season, with exclusive access to one of Swanage's hidden gems.
Starting on the beautiful downs above Swanage, we'll enjoy stunning coastal and countryside views as we make our way towards Durlston Country Park. Before reaching Durlston, we'll leave the usual route and head to The Hollow – a dramatic former stone quarry transformed into a remarkable garden.
The owners are opening The Hollow especially for our group, giving us the opportunity to explore this unique and unexpected space. Wander amongst the quarry's stone terraces, discover a variety of shrubs and ornamental grasses, and enjoy a few surprises tucked away within this fascinating landscape. The sheltered setting and imaginative planting create a garden unlike any other in the area.
Please note that there will be a £5 entrance fee per person into the gardens to be paid to the owners in cash.
After time to explore and soak up the atmosphere, we'll continue our walk back into Swanage. You're welcome to finish the walk there or stay on and join us at the Hungry Shark for a bite to eat and a chance to chat about the mornings discoveries.
