Walk Description:

Starting in the beautiful village of West Dean, we’ll climb through fields and woodland to the summit of The Trundle (St Roche’s Hill), an impressive Iron Age hill fort offering spectacular views across the South Downs.

From there we’ll descend into the village of Singleton, using a short section of quiet road before joining the Centurion Way. This former railway line has been beautifully restored as a shared walking and cycling path, providing a pleasant return to West Dean.

Around midday we’ll stop at the West Dean Village Shop & Café, where you can purchase drinks and light refreshments, or enjoy a packed lunch if you prefer. There is also a village pub nearby.

Location Notes:

Go past the village stores and park down by the river
