Walk Description:

Join us for an unforgettable adventure through one of the Peak District's most fascinating landscapes, where history, wildlife and dramatic scenery come together. Starting from the picturesque village of Gradbach, our route heads across quiet countryside towards Goldsitch Moss before climbing onto the high moorlands surrounding Flash, England's highest village. We'll continue to the historic Three Shires Head, where Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire meet beside its famous packhorse bridge and river crossing. One of the highlights of the day is a visit to the Junkers Ju 88 crash site, where the remains of a German bomber that crashed during the Second World War. All that remains are lumps of molten aluminium, nothing recognisable as coming from an aircraft but still a poignant place. From there, we'll enjoy expansive views across the South West Peak before descending through peaceful farmland and quiet lanes back towards Gradbach. This walk offers an excellent mix of open moorland, hidden valleys, fascinating history and some of the finest panoramic views in the Peak District. As always, we'll walk at a sociable pace, taking time to enjoy the surroundings, share stories and appreciate this remarkable part of the National Park. Distance: Approximately 9–10 miles (15–16 km)
