Walk Description:

Join Emma for a SOLAR ECLIPSE, Evening Nordic Walk for all at Woburn

Our walk will start at 6.15pm, we'll walk in to Woburn Deer Park and head for high ground where we will take time to stop and enjoy the peak of the partial eclipse. You might like to bring something to sit on (this is of course all weather dependant!) I will be keeping an eye on sunsets over the next few weeks to try and make sure we find the best spot to view.

A partial solar eclipse occurs with the moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, but the Sun, Moon and Earth are not perfectly lined up. The moon will block out part of the sun when viewed from the UK.   A brief guide to the partial solar eclipse: * Wednesday, 12 August * Starts at 18:15 * At it's peak 19:12 * Ends at 20:05

*Use eclipse glasses – Buy or borrow a pair of special eclipse glasses. These block out the Sun’s harmful rays and enable you to look at the eclipse safely with your own eyes. Please note that regular sunglasses are not safe to use, as they don’t have adequate UV protection to protect your eyesight. You might also want to consider a filter for your mobile phone to avoid damage to yoour camera lens.

ADVENTURE pace: 4 - 5 km/3 miles p/hr

TERRAIN: Grass land, fields, woodland paths with some gentle hills

DISTANCE: approx 5km

CANCELLATIONS

You are free to cancel your booking using the booking system up to the start time of the walk.

Please bear in mind that the walk leader may have already left home and may not pick up a late cancellation in a timely manner.

If you are cancelling within an hour of the walk, please try to contact the walk leader personally to let them know you are not attending.
