Walk Description:

Avon Heath is made up of lowland, wetland, grassland and heather with pines and birch woodlands.

There has been a lot of work in the park to restore the heathland with trees like pines and other invasive species are being removed to allow the heather to regenerate and to help the wild life.

Most of the trails are wide gravel or sandy tracks but there are areas which have tree roots. 3/4 of the walk is flat  with the rest slightly undulating. There are sometimes conservation grazing cattle.

We will walk for approx 3 miles, around 1.5 hours.

We can stop at the toilets on our route back before returning to the cars.

Parking is at St Ives End lane and we access the country park via a foot bridge/steps where the small residential park is.

Location Notes:

Parking in road near residential park home site. Entry to Avon Heath over pedestrian bridge. Toilets in the park. Cows on site. (CP)
