Nordic walking is what we have been famous for over 16 years - although we also now offer the latest version which is known as total body walking. We can teach you how to walk with poles for propulsion and a whole body workout and once you have mastered it at the right level and with the right poles for you, we will give you a Freedom passport that will give you access to walks with WALX and NWUK groups across the UK.

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This course will help you understand how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges. An initial 90 minute session ( or less if you are not up to that) tailored to your needs with an optional follow on session and support within the weekly walks. Make sure you master the correct movement and techniques from the start and progress as your fitness improves.
For those who have completed the Power of Poles intro course and want to explore how to get more out of using either strapless or Nordic style strapped poles with drills and advanced technique tuition. Your Instructor will help you gain a more comprehensive understanding of poles and how to maximise them for everything from fitness walking to running. This session involves plenty of practice, fault correction and personal guidance in order to leave you with a great understanding of using poles for progression, fitness and results.
All walks group offer regular themed and experiential walks for all levels which you can join with your poles. Some groups also offer a few walks for polers only and you may need to prove you have mastered the poles if it asks for a freedom passport when you try to book - thats to make sure you are comfortable with the pace and the leader knows that you can use poles correctly.
Total body walking for fitness is great one hour session which can be enjoyed with nordic walking or total body walking poles - they include drills where the poles are used to work on cardiovascular fitness, strength and stride. Using the WALX pace system and fun drills your Instructor will make sure you get a full pole walking workout.
