The Festival Hub is nestled in a beautiful field below the amazing Corfe Castle and conveniently close to the main tourist car park AND the Steam railway. We operate a huge amount of out and back walks from the HUB and from a host of other locations all over the Isle of Purbeck and beyond. Festival goers register at the HUB and collect their goodie bags, maps and festival guides. tha maps contain diretions to all start locations which have a unique Festival location number – you get a digital copy to help you plan your Festival experience before you come too
The Hub is where you go for info, toilets, refreshment, entertainment and respite – It’s a great place to rest between walks with a catering village that provides hot and cold drinks, breakfasts, Lunches and our pre bookable Evening event suppers. Purbeck Ice Cream have a van on site too (of course) and theres a brilliant rustic Festival bar that sells local Ciders, Beers, Prosecco and more on site too. The Retail village is home to the WALX store and other stalls such as GRUBs shoes, Flanci Active wear and more. There is also a Festival physio on site to help with injuries aches and pains!
The WALX team provide a host of WORKSHOPS and PRESENTATIONS throughout the weekend – these include
We are building more info on each activity on our new Festival pages but you can read more about them on last years site HERE – just please do not register or try to book that way as we are managing thngs through our main WALX portal this year
In the Evenings the HUB transforms into a moonlit arena with music, fire pits and a range of suppers.
Friday we host a supper on site and some presentations but there are also suppers linked to walks all over Purbeck
On Saturday the main social event of the weekend is held at the HUB and is simply NOT TO BE MISSED! The Band will be returning for the third time due to rave reviews – their unique mix of country, rock, pop and even folk music will get feet tapping as those who still have energy will jig around the braziers!
It’s great to see groups arriving with their blankets and chairs as they settle in and enjoy the Saturday supper too.
Non walking friends and Family are welcome to visit the HUB and enjoy the Music/social events ( Guest passes required)
The HUB reception, registration and all walks are organised, managed and manned by a dedicated band of amazing volunteers from the WALX Dorset group and other helpers from groups around the UK – we could not do it without them.
