What is TMW?

Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing is a specially-developed sequence of movements which promotes physical and emotional wellbeing. With origins in both Tai Chi and Chi Kung, the TMW sequence distils elements of these arts into a simplified form.  Completing the TMW series of moves and gestures varies from just 10 minutes to 30 minutes. TMW can also be practised both seated and standing, making its benefits accessible to all, from park benches to mountain tops.

Our TMW program helps bring the benefits of Tai Chi movements to people of all ages and stages.

We add TMW to our walks and enjoy the fluid movements that energise and recharge each person. It’s like meditation on the hoof in the beautiful surroundings of our walks.

Life is often full of demands and TMW help release the pressures and slow life down. When you give so much to others, this is your time of self-care and practising kindfulness.


“I have noticed the benefits of my breathing being steadier and deeper during the classes, which I think is having an effect on my blood pressure levels which have been consistently in the correct range ( 85: 130/40) for the past few months. I also enjoy the big stretches on Reach for the sky, row the boat etc as I feel my shoulders become more flexible after sitting at a desk all day.”


The beautifully crafted sequences of TMW comprises of carefully structured and mindful Tai Chi movements. Sitting and extended meditation does not suit all individuals and TMW offers a simple and gentle movement and exercise approach.

Unique movements, such as ‘Return to Centre’ offer an ‘anchor’ for the individual to interrupt negative thoughts and awaken to more healthy, balanced and embodied choices. This approach uses mindfulness meditation to increase awareness of the ‘here and now’ supporting new and healthier choices.

TMW’s simple yet effective sequence means it can help many different groups:

  • Mental health

  • Long term health conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s, Obesity, Diabetes, ME
  • Cancer/breast cancer – pre and post-operative care

It immerses like minded souls into a moment of oneness, of calm, of tranquillity. That sense of calmness is priceless and gives you a body wrap of confidence and boosts self-esteem.
