Walking is Great, But What About Strength & Balance?

Walking is a fantastic way to stay active, but as we get older, there’s another important part of looking after ourselves, maintaining our strength and balance.

UK health guidelines recommend that older adults include activities to improve strength and balance at least twice a week.

Why does it matter?

Maintaining strength and balance can help us stay mobile, feel more confident on our feet and keep doing the things we like as we get older.

The good news is that staying active doesn’t have to mean spending hours in the gym. Simple, suitable activities that fit into everyday life can make a difference.

Here at WALX Tone Valley, we believe being active is about more than exercise. Its about enjoying the outdoors, meeting people, building confidence and making the most of life.

You don’t have to be super fit to start. Begin at a level that suits you and build gradually.

Small steps today can help support an active , independant tomorrow.

WALX Tone Valley, Enjoy the walx, Embrace the journey.
